Your order arrives in an insulated box with dry ice or gel packs to keep everything fresh during transit. Inside you'll find your A Pup Above pouches sealed and ready to store. Everything is packed to maintain safe temperature from our facility to your door.
Unopened pouches can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 14 days or frozen for up to 6 months. Once opened, keep the pouch refrigerated and use within 4 days. We recommend portioning into daily servings if you're storing longer term.
Go slow — most digestive issues from switching foods come from moving too fast. Start by mixing 25% A Pup Above with 75% of their current food for the first 2–3 days, then gradually increase the ratio over 7–10 days until you're fully transitioned. Every dog is different — if you notice loose stools, slow down the transition and give their gut more time to adjust.
Feeding amounts vary by your dog's weight, age, and activity level. As a general rule, dogs need roughly 2–3% of their ideal body weight in fresh food per day. We stand behind every bag. If your dog isn't loving it, reach out via our contact page and we'll make it right — whether that means trying a different recipe or a full refund. Most dogs take to it immediately, but if yours needs a little convincing, try warming the food slightly to bring out the aroma.
Once opened, refrigerate and use within 4 days. If you won't finish the bag in that window, portion it out and freeze the remainder in an airtight container — it keeps well for up to 6 months frozen. Thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.

Some owners choose to mix long-term as a topper, which is perfectly fine. There's no wrong way to incorporate fresh food into your dog's routine.
